Man out of time.

The quarter is drawing to a close (we're on week 8 out of 10), and I still have plenty of work to do. Which is why I'm doing this right now. My eyes are so tired from reading...

30 Rock starts up this Thursday, and there is a new Pushing Daises tomorrow night! And a new episode of The Office is on Thursday! And BJ Novak is coming to OU it two weeks! And the Athens Halloween Block Party is coming up this Saturday! And I'm going to Columbus on Friday to get Cassie!

So many wonderful things happening. I just need to get caught up on my work so that I can properly enjoy everything.

Today:

Today I overslept. A lot. I had a class that started at 9:00, and I didn't wake up until 1:30 or so. I also missed my advising meeting, so now I have to reschedule that and hope that my advisor is somewhat forgiving.

I have a class tonight, but hopefully sometime this week Celia and I are going to carve pumpkins! It will be much more fun and fulfilling than working on our Othello project (which I finally finished reading, by the way).

And now, I am going to do the dishes. Peace.

Pictures, as promised.

A brand new craft apron! I found a tutorial online and then modified it to my needs. I gave it two big pockets and some smaller, pen shapped slots for pens and pencils and stuff.

I also made these ADORABLE Halloween cupcakes last night. Yellow cake with orange and black candy bits baked inside, topped with orange (really vanilla) icing and black jimmies. I love them, my roommate loves them... they are delicious.

I want to go to sleep!

It is currently 3:21 AM. Instead of procrastinating like normal, Celia and I are actually trying to get ahead on some homework. We are currently drafting our found space and period piece projects (that were totally due like, a week ago). Luckily for us, Warren is a cool guy and lets these things slide a bit.

While taking another adventure in avoidance, I made a craft apron with some leftover fabric I had. It's cute and nautical and has eyelet lace stuff on it. I like it a good deal. Pictures to follow.

Another thing I did today was make Halloween cupcakes. Yellow cake with delicious orange and black sprinkles mixed in, topped with orange icing and black jimmies. Probably the most beautiful cupcakes I have ever made in my entire life.

I am closing this post with a picture taken last winter break of Eric and I making a mess while baking pies. It often looks like this when I do anything in the kitchen.

Oh look! Another massive waste of time!

Granted this website has existed for a while, but I just found it today. TED has super neat videos about all sorts of things. I just watched one about bonobo apes, and it was probably the best video I have seen all year.

I was already aware that bonobo's had very human like qualities, but I wasn't aware of the extent. They walk upright about 90% of the time, and can do so for great distances (not so for most primates), understand human speech, and learn very quickly.

Anyway, watch and be amazed. I have to go clean the kitchen now.

"Chuck."

I was on West Green today visiting a friend when we decided to take a walk around campus. We left the dorm at 4:00, and not ten seconds later we saw a girl walking down the long road toward Stocker Center talking on the phone and looking at the ground. We were very interested in what she was looking at, because she seemed to be really interested, too. So we stopped to look.

AND IT WAS A HUGE PRAYING MANTIS. We named it Chuck.

We spent an hour looking at this thing. We attracted some people, actually. There were five of us in all just staring at it. The first half hour we were mainly poking it with a stick and seeing if it would attack a squirrel. Then we decided to get a bit braver and pick it up.

Liz took it a step further and decided to put Chuck on her head. Chuck didn't really like the texture of hair, but it was so cute to see her hop off when she was over it.
Unfortunately for Liz, just having a praying mantis on her head wasn't enough. Oh no. She had to take it another step further and put it on her face.

On another note, my room smells like pumpkin. Mmmmmm.

Obligatory first post.

This is my blogthing. Welcome, and hurray. Glad you could accidentally stumble upon this/click on the magical Facebook link that brought you here. I hope your stay is satisfactory, and that you read enjoyable things.

This journal came about because I am bored, and I am avoiding reading Othello/sleep.

On an unrelated note, I bought a candle today that smells like pumpkins. My room smells like awesome and win. I also got some pumpkin carving stencils. In the near future, I plan on carving some pumpkins, because nothing says "Autumn," like unwarranted pumpkin carnage.

On another unrelated note, I just added the word "Facebook," to my Firefox dictionary because I am tired of that little red line appearing every time I type it in somewhere.

In conclusion, here is a picture that I found on Facebook where I am surrounded by cool people and Jesty Beatz.

Not pictured: Jeff, one of the coolest people.
